The Role of Fibroblasts
The fibroblast, the main character in this movie, is the only cell that is capable of producing massive amounts of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin, It also recuperates the skin when its damaged and maintains the firmness to keep it young, healthy, glowing and vibrant.
However as we turn around 30 there is an important reduction in the number of fibroblasts, the quality of the remaining cells are not at their best and the collagen that produce is not strong.
What is F-Cells?
The Umbilical Cord Bank (BCU) in Mexico City created an aesthetic department and patented a technique to obtain more of the patient's own fibroblasts , called FCELLS.
The medical term for it is autologous fibroblast transplant because it involves taking cells from the patient, multiplying them in a sterile environment until we get 10+ million young fibroblasts and then we inject them back into the skin to stimulate more collagen production.
This will not only provide the skin with more cells, but will re activate other fibroblasts to work better and faster.
Once we get and isolate your young, healthy and new fibroblasts, we take several samples to freeze them in liquid nitrogen at -196°C, this will allow us to have more cells to apply in the future; every year you can unfreeze a part of them, multiply them again and get more cells into your skin.
The cells are paused at a cellular level and will not age, so every time we inject them you're always getting younger cells!
This is a transplant of your own cells, so there is no risk of allergy, rejection, or side effects!
THE PROCESS
The Initial Samples
On your first appointment we will take a skin biopsy of 1-3mm behind the earlobe and blood samples. This will be sent to the umbilical cord bank in Mexico city to process, isolate and multiply your fibroblasts.
This takes 3-4 weeks for the cells to be ready.
The Treatment
Once the lab calls us to notify the cells are ready, we'll schedule you for the application.
In the office we will clean and disinfect your face and neck, then apply a topical anesthetic cream for around 30min and inject your cells in the most needed areas, this is done with very fine needles and is painless.
Results
Once injected, the cells need a period to adapt to your skin and start to produce collagen, this takes between 2-4 weeks; however it might take up to 4-8 weeks for the results to be even more noticable.
Cryopreservation
The sample is stored and frozen in liquid nitrogen at -196°C for the first year. With only one sample and 1 biopsy we have around 8 more treatments that can be repeated every year for the next 8 years.
This means with one sample you can harvest up to 80 million cells!

Anyone can have this treatment done, however the best results and collagen production will happen in patients between 25 and 45 years old.

Patients 70+ years old will not see any significant results because the capacity of cell replication is not the best.
Pregnant and breastfeeding woman will have to wait until the process is over.
Patients with skin diseases, autoimmune disease or active skin infection shouldn’t do FCELLS

Once the cells are injected, there is a period of 4-8 weeks of collagen to see results. Every day you will see improvements over the next 9-12 months.
After 12 months you wont lose the effect because you already roduced massive amounts of collagen, however we recommend to re apply the treatment to keep delaying the aging process and help the body maintain the cell production.

After the injections there can be mild swelling and bruising that will heal and disappear fast.
The day of your treatment we recommend to avoid the sun, hot environments, exercise, swimming or applying and skincare.

Yes, because we have patients that will not be here 4 weeks after the biopsy, we usually take the samples and send them to the lab, they will immediately isolate, freeze and store the cells without the replication process. Once you're ready, you will need to let us know 4 weeks in advance to start the replication process and have them ready for you when you're in town.

Yes, the lab charges a fee to unfreeze and process your cells every time you wish to reapply them.

Can I donate or have cells from a younger patient?
Our entire body has fibroblasts and we can apply it anywhere; the most requested areas are the face, neck, chest, hands, scars, stretch marks and abdomen.
The amount of fibroblasts that we have available on each treatment can only be enough for 1 or 2 areas.

No, the cells contain DNA and immunological information and therefore must be applied to the same patient to avoid rejection, allergies or side effects.
