We are proudly the first and only clinic in Vallarta area with this technology.
Dr. Walters is an ultherapy speaker and trainer for Merz Aesthetics with extensive background and experience in ultrasound lift.
Ultherapy is a non invasive microfocused ultrasound lifting guided by real time imaging ultrasound. This energy is sent down to target areas of the face, neck or decolletage to produce a microdamage and make the body repair itself producing new collagen, and elastin in the right layers to have a lifting and tightening.
Ultherapy is ideal for patients who already have sagging, double chin or just want to prevent premature aging without the downtime and risks associated with a surgery.
Ultherapy stimulates collagen & elastin production in 3 different layers:
1) SMAS Layer (superficial muscular-aponeurotic system)
A very deep layer usually found at around 4.5mm deep that is in charge of keeping all the structures in place and when it gets weak, the facial structures start to drop. In fact, when a surgeon performs a surgical facelift, he actually lifts this structure to get the surgical result, ultherapy does it through the skin.
*This treatment does not substitute a surgical outcome, but can be a very good alternative to patients who cannot have a surgical facelift or are not willing to go under the knife*
2) Subcutaneous Fat Layer
The fat under the skin connects the SMAS with the skin; as we age, it has several ligaments that keeps the skin in place, as we age the ligaments lose collagen and get weak so this is a perfect target area for ultherapy.
3) Deep Dermis Layer
With aging, this layer gets thin, weak , loses elasticity and firmness leading to wrinkles, uneven skin tone and dull appearance, ultherapy can target this layer to produce massive amounts of collagen and rejuvenate it.
Ultherapy uses sound energy, which has unique properties that allow it to bypass the surface of the skin without damaging it and treat depths not matched by any other non-invasive cosmetic device.
Ultherapy stimulates collagen production beyond the skin and in the skin’s foundation while lasers rely on light energy, which cannot reach deeper skin layers.
The ulthera booster will only target the skin layer, this means it will only stimulate collagen at the top layer to improve the skin quality and skin tightening. Since it doesn't treat the fat layer and the SMAS, it will not have a lifting effect.
Patients do this treatment by itself every 6 months because it:
In other ultherapy protocols you can add this booster to your lifting to experience an even better outcome!
As we age, the forehead muscle that keeps our eyebrows in place lose collagen and strength, this can make our eyebrows to drop and indirectly make our eyelids heavy; ultherapy will stimulate collagen production at the forehead muscle to tighten it and lift the brows, sometimes it even elevates the eyelids for a more rejuvenated look.
In young patients without a volume loss or significant aging but want to elevate the eyebrows for a more sexy look, ultherapy is a perfect non invasive treatment to achieve that.
This lifting has NO downtime and can give you results up to 9 - 12 months!
If we extend the brow lift and treat the outer and lower part of the eyes as well, were able to fully rejuvenate the upper face, crow's feet and hollow eyes are improved making the eyes look more rested and young.
Most of the aging signs happen in the mid and lower part of the face.
The bone from the cheeks and jawline is reduced, the fat compartments shrink, the muscles and ligaments get weaker and the skin gets heavier.
All these anatomical changes make the folds, jowls, wrinkles and skin quality worsen over time.
A lower facelift with ultherapy targets the mid and lower face muscles, ligaments and skin together with the top part of the neck and submental area for a complete lifting.
Depending on the severity of your aging, additional treatments may be needed to achieve an even better result; like collagen stimulators, fillers, botox or lasers.
A full face protocol will treat your upper and lower face together with the top part of your neck, definitely one of our patient's most requested treatment!
Remember you can add on the ulthera booster for a complete rejuvenation!
The neck has many anatomical changes as we age and so many different neck types! Ultherapy is a MUST when you want a non surgical lift.
It works amazing in tightening the skin, double chins, turkey necks and contouring the jawline.
Ultherapy is not a surgery and will not help with excess fat, skin or muscle weakness. One of Dr. Walters most wonderful traits is his honesty. If Ultherapy can benefit you, he will explain the many ways in which your neck will react brilliantly to its ultrasound technology. On the other hand, if Dr. Walters has an alternate recommendation, he will walk you through your options to make sure you have all the information you need to make an informed decision.
The decolletage is an area that we forget to treat, it is exposed to the sun and environment making it look old, wrinkled and pigmented. Often with a single treatment, you can see your decolletage revitalized over the course of the next two to three months as collagen naturally replenishes itself and your skin gradually tightens.
Ultherapy is recommended between 30 and 65 year old.
This doesn't mean that you can't do ultherapy after 65, however the cells that produce collagen (and target of this treatment) are likely to be depleted (unless you have had Ultherapy in the past) and results may either take longer to show or will be poor.
YES, ultherapy is design to fight aging before the need of a surgical lifting but in patients with surgical liftings ultherapy can help to maintain the results, delay the need for another surgical lifting or even give that extra lift the surgery couldn't do.
NO - the results from Ultherapy will be more subtle than those achieved from a surgical facelift.
Many patients start to have Ultherapy to prevent the need of a surgical procedure in early stages.
This treatment is indicated in patients who don't want to or can't have a surgical facelift and are comfortable with mild to moderate lifting.
Results & timing will vary between patients; as soon as we finish the treatment you are already producing collagen, however your body needs a certain amount of it for the results to be visible, this usually takes between 2-3 months and gets better around the 6th month.
Ultherapy results usually last 10-12 months, we recommend getting the treatment every year because you will not only be correcting aging signs, but will also be delaying premature aging.
Yes, ultherapy is known to be painful without the right pain management; Dr. Walters has a treatment protocol that prepares the patient to be very comfortable during the procedure. Combining painkillers, topical numbing and some other goodies, our patients report a pain level of 2 out of 10.
Ultherapy is the ONLY FDA approved procedure to go as deep as a surgeon safely, since it uses real time guided ultrasound imaging were able to know exactly at what depth we are treating and if some other anatomical structure is in the way.
Ultherapy has been around for more than 10 years, over 2 million treatments performed and won several beauty awards for best and safe lifting procedure.
Side effects include minor bruising, discomfort the next days, swelling and skin redness.
YES - Ultherapy stimulates collagen and elastin production every time that is performed.
Let's assume you are meant to lose 10 collagen fibers this year and with ultherapy you will gain 8 new ones, so you won't be aging that fast.
Ultherapy is recommended every 12 months; in older patients they can benefit from this treatment every 6-9 months.
Depending on the treated areas, plan to spend between 1-3 hours in the office.
First we will prepare your skin and start the pain free protocol, this usually takes 30-45 min.
The treatment is done by our certified aesthetic nurse and ultherapist.
There is no downtime!, you can do your regular activities right away.
Some discomfort may be present for the next 2 week since the tissues are recuperating and working to get you into a better shape.
