WHAT IS BOTOX?
Botox treatment is the most popular cosmetic injectable in the world. The active ingredient - botulinum toxin type A - is derived from a bacteria called clostridium botulinum.
When injected in small quantities, Botox smooths facial wrinkles and lines. It is FDA-approved backed by hundreds of published studies and medical evidence proving it's a very safe treatment.
WHAT CAN BOTOX DO FOR ME?
This non-surgical treatment will soften and prevent wrinkles that are caused by excessive muscle contractions and will also balance the way your muscles are moving to achieve a good harmony between them.
UPPER FACE
It's a great treatment to reduce forehead lines, frown lines, wrinkles on the outside of the eyes (known as "crow´s feet), nose lines and perioral wrinkles (smokers lines).
LOWER FACE
It can be injected in the jawline and masseter muscles if your face has taken on a “square” appearance due to excessive clenching to shrink the muscles and make the lower face look slimmer.
It helps to relax the chin muscle in patients who have a "dimppled chin" and it can relax the vertical muscle bands of the neck.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
When we express ourselves and use our facial muscles, a nerve impulse is sent to these muscles instructing them to contract.
After years of frequent contractions combined with environmental and lifestyle factors, the collagen breaks down and permanent lines are formed. Botox interrupts this process by relaxing the muscles while still leaving it functional to allow you to look natural, rested and rejuvenated.
DURING THE TREATMENT
During your initial consultation at our botox clinic in Nuevo Vallarta, Dr. Walters will perform a comprehensive facial examination that thoroughly evaluates the shape of your face, the presence of wrinkles and lines as well as the overall quality of your skin to determine the role of Botox treatment in your rejuvenation journey.
A key component of this examination is to confirm that the wrinkles of concern are the result of muscle activity and not volume loss, which would need a different or complementary treatment.
After taking photos and signing the consent, your skin will be cleaned and Botox will be injected to the targeted areas using very fine needles.
Immediately After
You may notice small bumps and redness that usually disappears in 10-15 minutes.
1 day after the treatment
Most people will not experience any signs that show they’ve had Botox, in some patients minor bruising can be visible.
1 week after the treatment
You will start to feel the botox is acting, you might see the skin is getting better, with less wrinkles and with a more relaxed appearance, the full effect may take up to 14 days, some patients may need a touch up session to correct minor asymmetries.
1 month after the treatment
Your results will be very effective , showing a smooth skin, improvement of fine lines and a nice muscle balance.
3-4 months after the treatment
The effects of Botox will start to wear off and you will start to see a gradual return of movement.

Botox (Allergan Aesthetics - USA) is a type of botulinum toxin called onabotulinumtoxin type A. It is the first brand that came out back in the
80´s and it is FDA approved for many aesthetic and medical conditions.
Botox is bouned to proteins that stabilizes the molecule and needs to be stored in a cold environment to preserve its effectiveness.
Xeomeen (Merz Aesthetics - Germany) is a type of botulinum toxin called incobotulinum toxin type A;
it doesn’t have preservative proteins, which makes it the most purified toxin in the market, this allows it to bind to the muscles immediately, producing a faster result. This purity reduce the rare situation in which the body develops antibodies against the product.
Acebloc (Medytox - Korea)
Acebloc is as effective as Botox and Xeomeen in reducing moderate to severe facial wrinkles, while also being safe to use.
WHERE CAN BOTOX BE USED?
